The Redemption of The Damned is set on Vancouver Island and tells of a man's attempts to overcome ancient demons and embrace the world, both human and natural, around him. Like Joyce's Ulysses, which in part inspired it, it shifts between time zones and memories, underpinned all the while by the menace contained within the mud at the bottom of the lake.
